The association was founded in October 2000 by a group of citizens, each of whom at that time had already volunteered independently for several years in feeding street cats and helping injured, sick street cats and orphaned kittens. Over time, connections and cooperation were formed between the various activists, who meet mainly at various veterinarians. The decision to establish an association stemmed from the need to regularly raise donations to finance the medical treatments, hospitalizations, medications and food for the cats, which the activists financed from their own pockets, and thereby increase the number of street cats that can be helped. The association ensures that sick and or injured street cats receive medical care. The concern is expressed in bringing them for treatment and financing the necessary treatment and hospitalization. Veterinary expenses include: examinations, treatment of the sick and injured, surgeries, hospitalizations, and administration of medications and medical food, and sterilization of stray cats, in an attempt to alleviate the enormous number of cats that cause suffering to themselves and sometimes cause nuisance to people. The second most important expense was food for stray cats that was distributed to elderly stray cat feeders in need. The remaining expenses were for medications that were not received from veterinarians and equipment such as sand and cages. The activity required of volunteers is to locate the cat that was reported, capture it, and transport it to a nearby veterinary clinic.
