The Association for Jerusalem Street Cats
Why cats?
At Jerusalem Cat Syndrome, we believe that the miracle of the cat could only have come about through the hand of the Creator, who gave us the joy and the responsibility of caring for our surroundings. Since we can only stretch effort, money, and time so far, Bink and I choose to concentrate on aiding stray cats on the streets of the Holy Land of Israel.
For the past five years or so, I have been volunteering with a non-profit organization, helping to feed and care for the city's large feline population. A while back, our government kind of crashed for a while, and that scrambled aid to non-profit organizations, and we've never caught up. In the meantime, we need help to continue providing food, trapping, neutering, and other care.
Jerusalem Cat Syndrome's Mission
It is part of the mission of this store to support the efforts of the NPO on behalf of our tiny, furry, four-legged homeless friends by sharing images of the little beauties. We donate at least 15% of our profits from those pix (watch for special offers!) to the The Association for Jerusalem Street Cats*, and we hope that motivates you to stop and shop here often!
*The main site is in Hebrew; this description is from IsraelGives: We rescue sick and injured cats, ensure that they receive appropriate veterinary care, and provide temporary shelter. We facilitate the spaying/neutering of street cats in an attempt to limit population growth, and prevent the birth of unwanted kittens, who generally starve, die of illness, or are run over on our roads. We organize feeding stations manned by volunteers to maintain a stable population of spayed/neutered cats in the city.
